Katherine Avery is a research coordinator who is currently working with Dr. Machelle Pardue on using Levadopa as a treatment for Diabetic Retinopathy in her Research lab located at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. She graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. While in Kennesaw State University Katherine did some beginning research on invertebrates as a food source for mosquito fish. From there she worked with Georgia Retina for almost 8 years working with patients with diabetes, AMD, RVOs, etc.
Research Interests:
Katherine’s graduate research focused on multisensory systems and visual/auditory impairments. Her favorite part of clinical research is being able to build relationships with participants and work toward finding answers that will benefit many patients.
